Peter was most recently Associate Musical Director on South Pacific (starring Samantha Womack) and Road Show (Menier Chocolate Factory). He was Associate MD on Lovestory (Duchess Theatre) and was Musical Director and Arranger for Bells Are Ringing at the Union Theatre. He also worked on ITV’s Pop Star To Opera Star and Superstar.

He has conducted the West End productions of Cats as well as UK & international tours, The Sound of Music (starring Connie Fisher), Kiss Of The Spiderwoman with Chita Rivera, Les Miserables (UK & international tour) and Mack and Mabel, and played on the London productions of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat (starring Lee Mead), Annie Get Your Gun, Love Never Dies and The Wizard of Oz (starring Michael Crawford and Danielle Hope).

At the Chichester Festival, Peter worked on Oklahoma! and played the role of Oscar in 42nd Street. He has coached at the RADA, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, The Arts Educational School and Mountview Theatre School.

Peter has produced musical theatre special events for The Wellcome Trust, Henley Festival, The Queen of Jordan, The Foreign Office, cabaret seasons in Dubai, Miami, Oman and Beijing – as well as writing eight shows for the World Cruise of the QE2.

He was Musical Director and Arranger for the St George’s Day Celebration in Trafalgar Square.

Peter McCarthy is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London.
