Jacinta Whyte

Dublin born Jacinta started her career playing the title role in the original productions of Annie at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London and Gaiety Theatre, Dublin. Other West End performances include Linda in Blood Brothers, Ellen in Miss Saigon, Eponine in Les Miserables, a role she also played at the Point Theatre in Dublin and Edinburgh Playhouse.
Other theatre credits include Giuiletta in Aspects of Love and Rizzo in Grease (UK National Tours) Anne in Anne of Green Gables, Sandy in Grease ( Wolsey, Ipswich) Polly Perkins in Cinderella, Maid in Private Lives, Rosalia in West Side Story (Everyman, Cheltenham) Nellie in The Card, (Watermill, Newbury) Penny in A Slice of Saturday Night (Theatre Royal, Northampton) Alice in Dick Whittington (Churchill, Bromley) Nora in Brighton Beach Memoirs, Louise in Gypsy, Delia in One of Our Own, Maeve in The Scatterin' (Gaiety, Dublin) Mary in Mary Makebelieve (Gate Theatre, Dublin and Opera House, Cork)
On the concert platform, Jacinta has appeared with many of the world's leading orchestras including : Melbourne Symphony, Gothenburg Symphony, Bergen Philharmonic, Icelandic Symphony, Royal Philharmonic of Flanders, Lithuanian National Symphony, Royal Scottish National, Bournemouth Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, The Ulster Orchestra and the CBSO, in repertoire ranging from West End to Broadway style shows, The Musical World of Bond, Beatlemania, ,Queen Symphonic Spectacular, ABBA Symphonic Celebration through to Rogers & Hart, Sondheim, Cole Porter, Gershwin and Bernstein.
For Radio 2, Jacinta regularly guests on Friday Night Is Music Night with the BBC Concert Orchestra, highlights being the 50th Anniversary broadcast of West Side Story, Once Upon a Time and Tomorrow, celebrating composer Charles Strouse's 80th birthday, Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert and Call Me When You're In Something(Montreaux Golden Rose Award).
She has had a long association with the RTE Concert Orchestra as guest soloist (including many televised Proms series) personal highlights being sell-out performances of Tell Me On A Sunday and Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar at the National Concert Hall, Dublin.
Jacinta has worked extensively for RTE Radio & Television including her own TV Series Jacinta. More recently, Jacinta was judge and mentor on RTE / Shinawil's reality TV show ~ 'Fame The Musical' & 'Starsearch'
